Because The Angel Blinked

She lay crying on the street,
Dead child at her feet.
Pouring down rain,
To wash away the pain.
Guardian Angel blinked her eye,
Now left to say goodbye.
The world she loved,
Killed her dove.
Her little child,
Dead, homicidal.
Blood washes down the road,
Past her humble aboad.
Life is dead, bone dry,
Nothing left, can't even cry.
All that remains,
Are the bloodstains.
There is no more hurt,
Just a red t-shirt.
There's no more breath,
Just the cold death.
Because the Angel blinked her eye,
I never got to say goodbye.
